Phillip B. Klingler attended Professor Wolfram Niessen's art classes at Northern Michigan University in the early 1980's. After leaving the university, Klingler and Niessen continued a vigorous correspondence until the mid-90's. Wolfram Niessen
Many of the pictures here have been obtained (with respect) from Gordon Niessen's photo site.
Wolf was my sculpture instructed at NMU 1970-73. Still think of him often! Tried to adopt his work ethic, & now at age 69 it is what keeps me going as I work in my woodcarving shop each day!
Nice to hear from you sir. I still have many more of Wolf's letters to transcribe, this is a life project for me. Check back occasionally. Also if you come across any photos of Wolf in your archives please scan them and contact me. THANK YOU for your remembrances.
